JAMMU: State Secretary Jammu and Kashmir, Pawan Sharma has hailed the introduction of the ‘VB G RAM G’ — Viksit Bharat: Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) Bill in the Lok Sabha as a historic, visionary and transformative initiative aimed at reshaping the future of rural India and accelerating the journey towards Viksit Bharat @2047.
Pawan Sharma said that the Bill reflects the strong political will and long-term vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government to ensure inclusive growth, dignity of labour and economic empowerment at the grassroots level. “This landmark legislation places villages, the poor, farmers and youth at the centre of national development. It is not merely a welfare measure, but a comprehensive roadmap for sustainable livelihoods and self-reliance in rural India,” he asserted.
Highlighting the core objectives of the mission, Sharma stated that VB G RAM G will generate large-scale employment opportunities, strengthen rural livelihoods, promote skill development and encourage local entrepreneurship. “By integrating employment with skill enhancement, innovation and local resources, the mission will create durable assets and long-term income avenues instead of short-term relief,” he said.
Pawan Sharma further emphasized that the Bill will play a crucial role in reducing rural distress, curbing migration to cities and revitalising the rural economy. “When villages prosper, the nation prospers. This mission will empower rural youth to become job creators rather than job seekers, thereby laying a strong foundation for Atmanirbhar Bharat,” he added.
Terming the initiative as a ‘new guarantee of employment within 125 days’, Sharma said the mission embodies the government’s commitment to timely, accountable and result-oriented governance. “125 Days _ Rozgar Ki Nayi Guarantee is a promise of hope, opportunity and dignity for millions of rural households,” he remarked.
Pawan Sharma also congratulated the Union Government for bringing such a forward-looking Bill and expressed confidence that, once implemented effectively, it will emerge as a game changer for rural India, ensuring balanced development and social justice.
“The VB G RAM G Bill is a powerful testament to the Modi government’s resolve to transform India from the roots up. It is another decisive step towards a strong, self-reliant and developed India by 2047,” he concluded.
