BUDGAM: Police in Budgam, under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, destroyed illicit poppy cultivation in Khansahib area and registered a case under the NDPS Act. Acting on credible information, Police Station Khansahib registered FIR No. 98/2026 against an individual from Bugroo Khansahib for illegally cultivating poppy plants on nearly 01 Marla of land.
Police team along with Executive Magistrate 1st Class Budgam and Excise officials destroyed the cultivation on-site after completing all legal formalities including seizure and sampling. J&K Police reiterated its commitment to eliminating the drug menace and warned of strict action against those involved in narcotics cultivation and trafficking.
