HANDWARA: In a determined and multi-dimensional campaign against the  narcotics, J&K Police in Handwara has significantly intensified its anti-drug operations across the district under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan.

 The drive witnessed a combination of awareness programmes, rallies, hotspot checking, naka operations, community outreach aimed at building a safer and drug-free society. As part of the initiative, extensive awareness programmes and rallies were conducted in various schools and public places to educate students and youth and general public about the devastating impact of substance abuse on health, families and society. 

During the sessions, students were encouraged to stay away from drugs, adopt healthy lifestyles and act as ambassadors against the drug menace, as the youth are the true strength and future of society. Police teams also conducted intensified checking at identified drug hotspots, strengthened surveillance, and established naka points at strategic locations to curb illegal narcotics activities and monitor suspicious movement. The operations were aimed at dismantling the drug ecosystem and preventing the spread of narcotics among the youth.

Police reiterated its commitment towards eradicating the drug menace and appealed to citizens, parents, teachers, religious leaders and civil society members to join hands in this collective mission.
