ANANTNAG: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) in collaboration with the District Administration today held an awareness session on onboarding local products onto the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), with focus on products under the District as Export Hub (DEH) and One District One Product (ODOP) initiatives.

On the occasion, Trout Fish rearing, a DEH product from Anantnag with high export potential, was highlighted. District officials emphasized the administration's commitment to promoting Trout Fish and other DEH products like Red Chillies Honey, Mushk Budji, and cricket bats.

Over 200 participants, including artisans, exporters, and government officials, attended the drive. Experts provided detailed guidance on GeM onboarding and its benefits. JKTPO continues to support J&K entrepreneurs through various initiatives, including trade fair participation, e-commerce onboarding, and export awareness programs.

When he appointed me Editor-in-Chief of JK Monitor, he never treated me as an employee, but as a younger brother, offering warmth, trust, respect and invaluable guidance. I will always be grateful for his faith in me, his encouragement and the lessons he shared.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
