DODA: In a remarkable step toward strengthening rural healthcare access, a Mega Health Camp was successfully organized today at Village Phagsoo, Block Thathri, drawing an overwhelming response from residents of the region.

This impactful initiative was conducted on the directions of the Worthy Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Harvinder Singh (IAS), under the able guidance of Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar, and supervised by Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Tanveer Ahmed, and BMO Thathri, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Kichloo. The camp was held in collaboration with CO 26 RR, marking a powerful example of civil–military cooperation for public welfare.

More than 300 patients availed a wide range of services, including:

  • General medical check-ups
  • Screening for non-communicable diseases
  • Antenatal care (ANC) assessments
  • Elderly care consultations
  • Counseling services
  • Free distribution of essential medicines

A special focus was placed on maternal and child health and the management of chronic ailments. Additionally, 10 Vav Vandana cards were generated on-spot for eligible beneficiaries, ensuring long-term health benefits.

A highly dedicated medical team from Health Block Thathri along with medical personnel from the Army’s 26 RR unit provided seamless healthcare support. Dr. Arpit (AMC 26 RR) played a vital role in delivering expert medical consultations and ensuring comprehensive patient coverage throughout the event.

The camp received heartfelt appreciation from the local community, who expressed deep gratitude to the District Administration, Health Department, and 26 RR for making quality healthcare accessible to this remote region.

Speaking at the conclusion of the event, Sh. Akther Hussain Quazi, DPO Doda, lauded the collaborative efforts and unwavering dedication of the medical teams, calling the initiative a "significant step toward bridging healthcare gaps in inaccessible areas."

The Health Department reaffirmed its commitment to continue similar outreach programs in the future to promote equitable, accessible, and community-centered healthcare services across far-flung regions.

A day of service, a step toward healthier futures — Phagsoo witnessed both.
