JAMMU: Central University of Jammu, in collaboration with Cygnus JK Medicity Hospital, organized a comprehensive multispecialty health camp for its staff and students. The camp took place today aimed to provide essential healthcare services conveniently within the university campus.

Renowned specialists from Cygnus JK Medicity Hospital participated in the event, including Dr. Jaspreet Singh, Endocrinologist; Dr. Arun Gotra, Gastroenterologist; and Dr. Nidhi, Gynaecologist. They offered valuable consultations and conducted screenings for common health concerns such as diabetes and hypertension.

The health camp provided an opportunity for attendees to receive free medical consultations and medications, fostering a proactive approach to personal health and wellness within the university community.

Dr. Harpreet Singh, Senior Medical Officer, Central University of Jammu, expressed gratitude to the team from Cygnus JK Medicity Hospital. He commended their initiative in delivering high-quality healthcare services directly to the university’s doorsteps, enhancing accessibility to medical care for all staff and students.

When he appointed me Editor-in-Chief of JK Monitor, he never treated me as an employee, but as a younger brother, offering warmth, trust, respect and invaluable guidance. I will always be grateful for his faith in me, his encouragement and the lessons he shared.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
