POONCH: Principal Census Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today flagged off a dedicated Census Awareness Van from the District Headquarters to Snow Bound areas of Tehsil Mandi and Tehsil Surankote. The District Census Officer and Additional District Census Officer   were also present.

The initiative has been undertaken to disseminate important information regarding the Census Population Enumeration among the people, particularly those residing in remote, snow-bound villages of Tehsil Mandi and Tehsil Surankote.

The specially equipped van carries a display system containing Census-related information and awareness material to educate the public about the census process and importance of active public participation.

The district administration emphasized that the outreach initiative will help bridge the information gap and ensure that residents in far-flung areas remain properly informed about Census-related activities.
