JAMMU: On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA), along with senior party leaders, today lit the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ at the BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, under the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. Similar programmes were organised by senior BJP leaders across all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir, marking the beginning of a month-long series of service-oriented activities.
Sat Sharma was accompanied by BJP J&K Vice President and ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ Incharge Rajiv Charak, BJP J&K General Secretary and ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ Incharge Gopal Mahajan, MLA Vikram Randhawa, former MLA Ashwani Sharma, Tilak Raj Gupta, Dr. Makson Tickoo, Naresh Jasrotia and Rajesh Gupta, Rakesh Pant, Bawa Sharma, Vikrant Gupta, besides senior leaders and party functionaries. The leaders lit the traditional diya and extended their blessings and best wishes for Prime Minister Modi’s long life, excellent health and continued service to the nation.
Sat Sharma said that the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ symbolises the collective blessings and goodwill of the people for Prime Minister Modi, while also reflecting the spirit of service that guides the BJP’s public life.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated decades of his life to the service of the nation and the people. On his birthday, the BJP has chosen to celebrate this occasion through Seva Sankalp Abhiyan by taking up meaningful service activities across Jammu and Kashmir. The lighting of Aashirwad Ka Diya is an expression of the people’s affection, blessings and good wishes for his long life and continued service to Bharat,” Sat Sharma said.
Rajiv Charak said that the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme witnessed enthusiastic participation and would be carried forward across Jammu and Kashmir. Gopal Mahajan said that the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan has been designed to take the message of service to every district and every section of society, with party workers actively participating in the programmes.
Ch Vikram Randhawa said that the BJP’s service programmes would continue to reach the grassroots and involve workers and people across all sections of society. The programme at the BJP headquarters marked the commencement of the statewide initiative, with similar programmes organised simultaneously across all 20 districts.
