KATRA: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) marked the inauguration of Hindi Pakhwada with a formal ceremony held on campus. The event was graced by Prof. Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi, President, Hindi Cell and Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, as Chief Guest, while Prof. R. K. Mishra, Dean of Students Welfare, attended as the Guest of Honour.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Anurag Kumar, Nodal Officer, Hindi Cell and Head, School of Languages and Literature. The event was organized with the active support of Mr. Aakash Chaurasiya, Student Secretary, Hindi Cell, and his team. In his address, Chief Guest Prof. Dwivedi highlighted the significance of the Hindi language, its rich literary heritage, and its role in fostering national unity. He urged students to engage more actively with Hindi and to contribute towards its promotion and propagation.

Guest of Honour Prof. Mishra also shared his views on the occasion and encouraged students to participate enthusiastically in the various competitions to be held during Hindi Pakhwada. The event was attended by a large number of faculty members, research scholars, and students. As part of Hindi Pakhwada, a series of literary activities — including essay writing, debate, poetry recitation, and other competitions — will be organized in the coming days.The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
