POONCH: Director Employment & MD Mission YUVA Harvinder Singh (Mentor for District Poonch) today reviewed the implementation of Government’s 100 Day J&K Nasha Mukt Abhiyan (NMJKA) in this border district here at a meeting held in the meeting  Hall of the Deputy Commissioner Office.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma; Senior Superintendent of Police Shafqat Bhat; ADC Tahir Mustafa Malik and other district and sectoral officers.

At the outset, District Social Welfare Officer Khalil A Banday delivered a PowerPoint presentation, outlining the action plan and progress achieved under the campaign across the district.

It was informed that District Poonch has conducted more than 550 activities so far, with participation exceeding 2 lakh individuals, reflecting a massive public outreach and community involvement.

  Harvinder Singh appreciated the concerted efforts of all departments and emphasized the need to sustain momentum, strengthen grassroots level engagement and ensure impactful awareness initiatives under the ongoing Government campaign.

  Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma reiterated the administration’s commitment to involve youth, educational institutions and community stakeholders, while the SSP Shafqat Bhat stressed upon robust enforcement measures alongside awareness drives.

Later, Harvinder Singh visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School, where a painting competition on the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was being conducted. He appreciated the creativity and active participation of students in spreading awareness against drug abuse.

He also visited the Sports Stadium, where he inaugurated a cricket match organized as part of the campaign, highlighting the importance of sports and youth engagement as powerful tools for promoting a healthy and drug free lifestyle.

The meeting and subsequent visits concluded with a renewed commitment to further scale up activities under the Government’s 100 Days J&K Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, ensuring deeper outreach and meaningful societal impact across District Poonch.
