JAMMU: India’s defense capabilities have entered a new era of strength, speed, and strategic supremacy under the bold, decisive, and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Jammu & Kashmir BJP Media Incharge, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, while highlighting the transformative strides made in strengthening the nation’s defense sector.
He stated that the Modi-led government has not only modernized the armed forces but has also ensured robust infrastructure and logistics to enhance operational preparedness, especially along sensitive borders. While improving the road network, four-laning of roads, inducting bridges and tunnels, the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, has given a new dimension to the military capabilities of India along with the civil connectivity to Kashmir and beyond.
Highlighting a recent and significant development, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra said that the induction of tanks and artillery into the Kashmir Valley through a military special train moving over the highest rail bridge on Chenab is a glaring example of the growing reach, capability, and preparedness of India’s defense forces. He said that this historic movement marks a major logistics milestone and provides a substantial boost to operational readiness along the northern borders. It clearly demonstrates the enhanced mobility and logistics capabilities achieved under the present government, he said.
Dr. Pardeep emphasized that rail transport is the fastest, safest, and most efficient mode for moving heavy military equipment such as tanks and artillery. He said that the road transport has inherent limitations, like, Tank transporters on highways have restricted speed and are vulnerable to weather and terrain-related disruptions. In contrast, dedicated military trains ensure swift and seamless movement of critical defense assets, he said.
Dr. Pardeep further recalled that before the completion of the railway line to the Kashmir Valley, logistical support to the region was heavily dependent on road convoys. These convoys were frequently disrupted due to heavy snowfall, landslides, and adverse weather conditions, often causing delays and operational challenges. The Modi government’s focus on strategic infrastructure, including rail connectivity in difficult terrains, has addressed these long-standing bottlenecks, Dr. Pardeep added.
Dr. Pardeep Mahotra said that such initiatives reflect the Modi government’s zero-compromise approach to national security. From defense manufacturing under ‘Make in India’ to improved border infrastructure, faster mobilization, and enhanced coordination, every step taken by the Modi government is aimed at empowering our armed forces, he said.
Dr. Pardeep reiterated that the strengthened defense logistics and infrastructure not only ensure rapid deployment but also act as a strong deterrent against any threat to the nation’s sovereignty. He asserted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the entire country have full faith that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India’s security interests will always remain paramount.
