YOL (HIMACHAL PRADESH): On the occasion of the ongoing 78-day-long yajna ritual of all four Vedas at Ved Mandir, Yol, Swami Ram Swaroop, Yogacharya, delivered an insightful discourse based on Atharvaveda, Kanda 12, Sukta 1, explaining the divine knowledge of Earth created by God.

He elaborated that the increasing practice of Vedic truth—satya karm (truthful actions), satya gyaan (true knowledge), deeksha (initiation), tapomay jeevan (a life of penance), and yajna (comprising dev pooja, sangatikaran, and daan)—sustains the entire Earth. He emphasized that if these Vedic principles are not followed, the Earth would face destruction.

Drawing attention to historical and present global conditions, he noted that two World Wars have already taken place and a third could occur at any time. He also recalled that after the Partition of 1947, and even before that during 800 years of Mughal rule and 200 years of British rule, people lived in suffering and were enslaved. He cautioned that a third world war could push the entire world into ignorance, darkness, and misery.

Referring to the mantra, he explained that God advises human beings to pray for the expansion and preservation of the sacred Earth, which provides oceans, rivers, water streams, springs, wells, food, and agriculture that sustain life. He urged people to regain Vedic knowledge and live according to Vedic teachings to attain such happiness.

Explaining Mantra 12, he stated that justice, the duties of Kshatriyas, and strength-giving food all originate from the Earth, and humanity must uphold and preserve these. Quoting “Bhoomih Mata, Aham Prithivya Putrah” (Earth is my mother, and I am her son), he stressed the duty to protect the Earth from suffering and enemies.

In the current global scenario, where nations are issuing threats of war to one another, he called upon citizens to strengthen the nation by joining the Army, Air Force, and Navy. He said that God has clearly indicated that Earth provides protection, food, wealth, water, and shelter and therefore must be served with body, mind, wealth, and life.

He further stated that any enemy attempting to harm this mother-like Earth must be strongly resisted. Referring to Samaveda Mantra 1864, he said it describes the defeat of enemy forces, while Samaveda Mantra 1409 highlights that warriors who sacrifice their lives in defense of the motherland attain salvation.

He urged soldiers to dedicate their lives to protecting the nation and glorifying their existence.Addressing parents, he encouraged them not to hesitate in inspiring their children to join the armed forces for the protection of the nation. Concluding his discourse, he quoted:“Everyone knows how to live for themselves, but those who live for others are called brave.”
