NEW DELHI: In line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises holistic, inclusive, and quality education, the Indian Schools Convention 2026 is being organised to recognise and felicitate outstanding contributions of higher secondary, secondary, high schools and middle schools across the country. The convention is being organised by the Centre for NaMo Studies (CNMS) in collaboration with the Media Centre on 26th March 2026 at the India International Centre, New Delhi.

The convention will be graced by Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, former Governor of Assam, as the Chief Guest, where the much-awaited Best School Awards 2026 will be announced. Speaking on the broader vision of education, Prof. Jasim Mohammad, Chairman, Centre for NaMo Studies, highlighted the importance of the National Education Policy 2020, stating, “The National Education Policy provides a transformative framework for the future of education in India. It encourages holistic development, critical thinking, and skill-based learning. Through initiatives like the Indian Schools Convention, we aim to align with the spirit of NEP by promoting quality, inclusivity, and innovation in school education.”

He further emphasised that such initiatives play a vital role in recognising institutions that are working with dedication across different regions and conditions, adding that education remains the foundation for building a strong and progressive nation. Prof. Divya Tanwar, Coordinator ISC 2026 informed that 187 schools from across India participated in the selection process, out of which 40 schools have been shortlisted by the Jury Committee after a detailed evaluation.

"The awards will be presented across four categories—Urban, Semi-Urban, Rural, and Semi-Rural. The organisers have confirmed that the final winners will be announced on 26th March during the convention," she stated. Dr Daulat Ram Co-coordinator of ISC 2026 said , “Indian Schools convention is all about recognising the sincere efforts of schools, teachers, and students who are contributing to the nation’s educational growth. The programme is also dedicated to the legacy of Ratan Naval Tata, whose vision continues to inspire generations.”

The convention will feature Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari, former Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, and  Dr Khwaja Iftikhar Ahmed, Founder President of the Inter Faith Harmony Foundation of India, as the Principal Guests. The Guests of Honour include Swami Shri Devendra Brahmachari, Founder of the Mahavirayatan Foundation; Ms Maya Kulshreshtha, Member of the Rajbhasha Samiti, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India; and Dr. Vijay Datta Principal of Modern School Barakhamba Road New Delhi.
