NEW DELHI: Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, has brought great pride to the nation as Atharv Bhatnagar, a student of the school, created history by winning a bronze medal in the Folk Singing category at the 1st Youth Delphic Games for SCO Member States, held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from 23rd to 28th March 2026.
This remarkable achievement marks one of India’s first medals at the Youth Delphic Games and stands as a testament to the growing global recognition of young Indian talent in the field of arts and culture.
Adding to this proud moment, 13 students from Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, were selected to represent India in dance and music categories at this prestigious international event. These students were part of a 46 -member Indian contingent, chosen through a nationwide talent identification process conducted by the Modern Pythian Games. Their selection reflects high standards of excellence and their ability to represent India on a global cultural platform.
The students participated in various disciplines including folk dance, music, and fine arts, showcasing the richness and diversity of Indian culture among participants from SCO member nations.
A key highlight of the visit was a special High Tea reception hosted by Shri Birender Singh Yadav, Ambassador of India, in honour of the Indian delegation. The Ambassador personally interacted with the participants, encouraging them to represent India with pride and excellence while reinforcing the importance of cultural diplomacy in strengthening ties between nations.
Leadership and Guidance:
The Indian delegation was led by Mrs. Alka Kapur, Principal of Modern Public School and a respected educationist, who was officially entrusted with this responsibility by the Modern Pythian Games.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Kapur said:
“It is a matter of immense pride for our school and the country. Our students have not only performed with excellence but have also represented India’s rich cultural heritage with dignity on an international stage.”
