SOPORE: Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, a unique Tonga Rally was organized by the Sopore Administration to spread awareness against drug abuse among the masses.
The rally was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, S.A. Raina, and witnessed participation from civil and police officers, officials, and a large number of locals. Around 70 tongas were used in the rally, reviving traditional transport to deliver a strong social message.
The rally commenced from Chankhan bridge and culminated at Fruit Mandi Sopore, drawing significant public attention along the route. Tongas decorated with placards and banners carried messages highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of a drug-free society.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC Sopore emphasized the need for collective community efforts to combat drug abuse and urged people, especially youth, to actively support the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan for a healthier and safer society.
