ANANTNAG: Continuing its drive against illegal narcotics cultivation under the ongoing anti-drug campaign, Police in Anantnag registered three separate cases against persons involved in unlawful poppy cultivation in Pahalgam and Bijbehara areas.
Police Station Pahalgam registered FIR No. 43/2026 and FIR No. 45/2026 regarding illegal cultivation of poppy crops at Rangward and Mirpora Laripora, Pahalgam respectively. Investigation has been taken up.
Similarly, Police Station Bijbehara registered FIR No. 130/2026 against Gull Mohammad Tantray son of Abdul Majeed Tantray resident of Aswara for illegal cultivation of poppy plants. Further investigation in the case is underway. J&K Police reiterates its commitment towards eradication of illegal narcotics cultivation and appeals to the public to share information regarding such unlawful activities.
