BARAMULLA, AWANTIPORA: Continuing its sustained efforts under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, Police organised awareness programmes at different locations in Baramulla and Awantipora to spread awareness against drug abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free society.

Police Station Chandoosa in collaboration with Government Higher Secondary School Kachu organised a Mini Marathon aimed at sensitizing youth about the harmful effects of drugs and encouraging them to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Students and staff members participated enthusiastically in the event and raised slogans promoting a drug-free society.

Similarly, Drug Awareness Programme was organised at Government High School Nagbal in which the ZEO Chandoosa, teachers, students and local residents participated. During the session, speakers highlighted the social and psychological impact of substance abuse and stressed the importance of collective community efforts in eradicating the menace of drugs from society.

In Awantipora, an awareness programme was conducted by Police Station Pampore with religious leaders and respectables of the area. During the programme, participants were sensitized about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the need for collective efforts to eradicate the menace from society. Officers highlighted the important role of religious leaders and community members in spreading awareness, guiding youth, and encouraging a drug free environment.

The participants pledged their support and assured cooperation in strengthening anti-drug efforts and making society safer and free from the menace of narcotics. Police reiterated its commitment towards safeguarding youth and continuing awareness initiatives across the valley under the ongoing anti-drug campaign.
