REASI: Under the visionary leadership of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Reasi (also Pr. District and Sessions Judge Reasi) Khalil Choudhary and the guidance of Secretary, DLSA Reasi, Pooja Gupta, a series of legal awareness events were organised today across the District An awareness outreach camp on the Rights of Tribal Communities was organized  at Dewal-B, Mahore by the local PLVs.

 The participants were informed about the constitutional and legal safeguards available for tribal communities, including their rights related to education, health, livelihood, land, social welfare schemes and access to free legal aid services. The PLVs also highlighted the role and functions of Legal Services Authorities in providing free legal assistance to eligible persons and encouraged the local tribal population to approach DLSA/TLSC for legal help and grievance redressal.  

Another Awareness Programme on “Surakshit Bachpan, Surakshit Bhavishya” was organized at Government Middle School Karua by the PLVs of TLSC Katra. Students, teachers and local participants were sensitized to child rights, protection of children from abuse and exploitation, importance of education, cyber safety and various legal safeguards available for children under different laws including the POCSO Act.  

Another awareness programme on Digital Frauds and Online Schemes was organized at Village Chapano. The villagers were also informed about cyber helpline numbers and legal remedies available to victims of online frauds.  Meanwhile, the LADC team of DLSA organised an awareness programme on “Awareness about Basic Rights, Entitlement of Essential Services and Availability of Free Legal Aid” at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi. The programme was conducted by Chief LADC Rashi Baru in presence of Deputy Chief LADC Bhumica Sharma and ALADC Niharika Bamotra.

Bhumica Sharma sensitized the students and participants regarding their fundamental rights and duties, access to essential public services and the significance of legal awareness in day-to-day life.  

 The participants were encouraged to approach DLSA and LADCs for legal assistance, guidance and dispute resolution. Special emphasis was laid on empowering young students through legal literacy and encouraging them to spread awareness among their families and communities regarding legal rights and social welfare schemes. The participants actively interacted during the session and appreciated the initiative taken by DLSA Reasi.

 Another awareness programme on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) was organized at Village Akhli by the PLVs of TLSC Katra.  A door-to-door awareness campaign to generate awareness about Social Welfare Schemes was conducted at Village Kotla by the Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of DLSA Reasi.
