JAMMU: On the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, Director School Education Jammu Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary has extended warm greetings and heartfelt felicitations to students, parents, teachers, officers, officials and the entire educational fraternity of the Jammu Division.

In his message, the Director observed that Buddha Purnima is not merely a commemoration of the birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha, but an enduring reminder of the transformative power of wisdom, compassion and self-discipline. At a time when the world often appears hurried, fragmented and restless, the teachings of the Buddha acquire an even greater relevance, illuminating the path towards harmony, empathy and mindful living.

Dr. Chowdhary remarked that education, at its noblest, seeks precisely what the Buddha advocated centuries ago, the cultivation of an awakened mind, a compassionate heart and a character anchored in truth. Knowledge, when tempered by humility and achievement, when guided by kindness, become instruments not merely of personal success, but of collective progress.

"Buddha taught us that peace does not descend from the heavens; it is built patiently within the human heart. In our schools, colleges and homes, we must strive to nurture minds that are inquisitive, hearts that are compassionate and spirits that remain resilient in the face of adversity. True education lies not only in knowing more, but in becoming better," the Director said.

He further expressed hope that the sacred occasion would inspire students to pursue excellence with sincerity, teachers to continue shaping lives with dedication and parents to remain steadfast partners in the noble enterprise of education.

Drawing a profound parallel between the Buddha's eternal message and the contemporary educational landscape, Dr. Chowdhary noted that the values of tolerance, critical thinking, emotional balance and universal brotherhood are no longer optional virtues, but indispensable necessities in the twenty-first century.

As celebrations unfold across the region, the Director prayed that Buddha Purnima may bring peace, prosperity and enlightenment to every home and strengthen the shared commitment towards building an enlightened, inclusive and compassionate society. "May the light of wisdom dispel the darkness of ignorance and may every learner become not just a scholar, but a torchbearer of humanity," he added.
