JAMMU: As the offices are set to reopen in Jammu tomorrow following the Darbar Move, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s governance approach over the past year has remained firmly focused on responsive, inclusive and people-centric development, with sustained public outreach and a commitment to addressing the concerns of people across Jammu and Kashmir.

Leading from the ground, the Chief Minister has undertaken extensive visits across Jammu and Kashmir, reaching remote villages, towns and urban centres to interact directly with people, listen to their grievances and understand their aspirations. These engagements have helped shape the Government’s priorities, with a focus on improving everyday life through better road connectivity, safe drinking water, reliable power supply, environmental protection, quality healthcare, education, skill development, sports and modern public infrastructure.

Several major initiatives undertaken by the Government reflect this development-oriented approach. These include the proposed modern solid waste management facility at Achan in Srinagar, a mega water supply scheme in Udhampur, the development of new industrial estates across Jammu and Kashmir, Tawi Wonderland, the establishment of Unity Malls and the inaugural International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir.

The initiatives are aimed at strengthening infrastructure, expanding economic opportunities, promoting tourism and improving the delivery of public services. Together, they reflect the Government’s commitment to addressing the developmental needs of different regions while creating avenues for sustainable growth and prosperity.

Through regular field visits, sustained public outreach and a focus on resolving people’s concerns, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah continues to pursue the vision of an inclusive, progressive, prosperous and happy Jammu and Kashmir, where development reaches every region and its benefits touch every section of society.

As the Civil Secretariat and other offices resume functioning in Jammu, the Government’s focus remains on carrying forward this agenda of development, public service and responsive governance across Jammu and Kashmir.
