BHADERWAH: Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunil Kumar Bhutyal today chaired a meeting at his office chamber to review the implementation of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and the progress of smart meter installation in Bhaderwah subdivision.

Detailed discussions were held regarding the installation of transformers and strengthening of electricity infrastructure in villages of Gutassa, Tipri, Neota and Karyan. The requirement of electricity poles and wires in these areas was also reviewed to ensure better power supply and improved services to the public.

Officials informed the chair that nearly 62 percent of smart meters have already been installed in Sub Division Bhaderwah and the remaining work is expected to be completed by July 31, 2026. The meeting was attended by AE and AEE officers of the JPDCL department along with representatives from Power Grid and Vijay Electricals.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
