PULWAMA: District Youth Services and Sports Department Pulwama continued its intensive 100-day campaign against drug abuse by organizing a wide range of sports events across the district in various educational institutions.

The events commenced with the administration of a Nasha Mukt Pledge, where participants resolved to promote a physically fit, mentally sound, and drug-free society. Speakers on the occasion highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse and its far-reaching repercussions on individuals and society at large.

Zonal Physical Education Officers conducted multiple activities across different zones of the district. In Zone Pulwama, pledge ceremonies and competitions were held at BHSS Pulwama, BHS Payer, and BMS Pulwama. Zone Tahab organized table tennis and chess competitions at HSS Litter. Zone Awantipora hosted a zonal-level football tournament at Sports Stadium Charligund.

Similarly, Zone Tral conducted events at HS Rathsuna, MS Panner, UPS Nanibugh, and HS Saimoh. Zone Pampore organized activities at HSS Samboora, Dussu, and Pampore. Zone Kakapora held athletic events at HS Parigam, while Zone Lurgam organized programs at Kanjagund Aripal and in several panchayats.

Through these activities, the department aims to spread mass awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse and promote a sense of responsibility among youth towards building a drug-free society.
