KARGIL: With profound grief and sorrow, the Jamiat Ul Ulama Isna Ashriya Kargil (JUIAK) Ladakh mourns the demise of its devoted servant and founder of the Media Cell (Isna Ashriya Network), Haji Abdul Hamid Ruby, who passed away in Srinagar after a brief illness at the age of 65.

Haji Abdul Hamid Ruby was a true Khadim-e-Ahlebait, whose life remained dedicated to the service and propagation of the teachings of the Holy Ahlebait (AS). His sincerity, humility, and unwavering devotion made him a source of inspiration for the entire community.

His mortal remains were received with deep reverence by volunteers of the Isna Ashriya Network at Lakthang, Drass, and brought to Kargil in a solemn cavalcade. Member of Parliament Ladakh Haji Hanifa Jan, General Secretary JUIAK Ladakh Sheikh Ibrahim Khalili, Imam Juma Drass Sheikh Hussain Baramo, Political Incharge JUAIK Ladakh Sajjad Kargili, Members from all Branches of JUIAK Ladakh and many prominent personalities joined the procession.

The Namaz-e-Janaza was offered at the Isna Ashriya Complex, Kargil, led by respected scholar Sheikh Hassan Goma Minjee, his father-in-law. He was later laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Changchik amid an atmosphere of deep mourning and prayers.

Haji Abdul Hamid Ruby was a pioneer of religious media in Kargil. At a time when technology was limited to VCRs and cassette-based cameras, he worked tirelessly—often single-handedly—recording Majalis, religious gatherings, and important community events. Using his personal equipment in the early days and later organizational resources, he ensured that the message of Ahlebait (AS) reached the masses.

He would capture the entire day’s events, dedicate long hours to editing, and late into the night meticulously prepare the recordings—ensuring that the same content was broadcast at midnight on the ISK Channel through Kargil Cable Network (KCN). This routine, carried out with devotion and consistency, became a hallmark of his commitment and discipline.

The rich video archives of JUIAK Ladakh, including those from the era of late Sheikh Sayed Mohammad Mohammadi, stand today as a living legacy of his relentless efforts and foresight.

He also played a significant role in identifying and nurturing talent, strengthening the Media Cell, and transforming it from a one-man effort into a well-organized and full-fledged media network serving religion and society on all media Platform.

On the occasion, General Secretary JUIAK Ladakh Sheikh Ibrahim Khalili paid rich tributes to the departed soul, recalling his lifelong services and contributions to the cause of Ahlebait (AS). He termed his demise as a great loss to the community and to the religious media fraternity. He also extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of JUIAK Ladakh to the bereaved family, especially his elder brother Haji Tahir, Iftiqar Hussain, Muzzamil, His Wife, Son, Daughters, and all other family members.

His lifelong voluntary service reflects the true essence of Khidmat in the path of Ahlebait (AS). JUIAK Ladakh and the entire community have lost a sincere worker, a humble servant, and a guardian of religious heritage. May Almighty Allah grant him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and bestow patience upon his family, loved ones, and the entire community.
