KATRA: Vikalp, a student-led social initiative of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), is committed to promoting educational equity by supporting underprivileged and academically deserving students through structured outreach, awareness, and partnerships. In the present phase, Vikalp successfully facilitated educational assistance through its collaboration with Synergie, under the Muskaan Scholarship, the flagship CSR initiative of Valvoline Cummins Private Limited.
Through a systematic identification and screening process, selected students of Vikalp-Surbhi Sharma (Class 9), Divyanshi Sharma (Class 10), Kiran Sharma (Class 11), Janvi (Class 9), and Janvi Dubey (Class 12), Abhinay Thapa (11 th class)- received educational expense reimbursement of âč12,000 and more to support school fees,uniforms, books, and essential study materials, along with mentorship and guidance support for senior secondary students.
This initiative highlights Vikalpâs continued efforts to prevent school dropouts, strengthen access to quality education, and instill a sense of social responsibility and community engagement among university students, while contributing meaningfully to the academic continuity and future aspirations of young learners.
