JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir BJP Vice-President and Prabhari of BJP SC Morcha Bharat Bhushan (DDC Chairperson), accompanied by J&K BJP SC Morcha President Dharminder Kumar (DDC Member), Party Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, SC Morcha Vice-President and Incharge of the week-long programmes commemorating Guru Ravidass Ji Karan Atri, and SC Morcha General Secretary Seema Devi, addressed a press conference at the BJP Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

Addressing the media, Bharat Bhushan expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for paying due respect and honour to the revered saint Guru Ravidass Ji. He described Guru Ravidass Ji as a great saint, poet of the Bhakti Kaal, and a pioneering social reformer who dedicated his life to the upliftment of society and the fight against social discrimination and inequality.

Bharat Bhushan highlighted that during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Jalandhar on February 1, the Aadampur Airport was renamed after Guru Ravidass Ji, calling it a historic step that reflects the Prime Minister’s deep respect for the saint and the sentiments of the SC community. He further mentioned that the Modi-led Union Government recently conferred the prestigious Padma Shri award upon Sant Niranjan Dass Ji the head of Dera Sachkhand Ballan near Jalandhar, which has been widely appreciated by the SC community and particularly by the SC Morcha.

Bharat Bhushan further elaborated that Prime Minister Modi has led unprecedented development works at Guru Ravidass Temple, Seer Govardhanpur, Kashi (Varanasi). He informed that projects worth approximately ₹400 crore, spread across 113 acres, including the installation of a statue, museum, community hall, park, and other infrastructure, have been inaugurated there. He also mentioned the construction of a grand temple dedicated to Guru Ravidass Ji in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, at a cost of around ₹100 crore, as well as renovation and development works at the historic Tughlaqabad site associated with the saint.

Speaking on the occasion, Dharminder Kumar said that Guru Ravidass Ji’s teachings of equality, harmony, and social justice continue to inspire generations. He stated that the consistent efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honour Guru Ravidass Ji and other social reformers demonstrate the government’s commitment to inclusive governance and social empowerment. He added that the SC community feels deeply respected and acknowledged under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, who has worked tirelessly to bring marginalized sections into the mainstream of national development.

Addressing the press conference, Balbir Ram Rattan said that Guru Ravidass Ji belonged to all sections of society and worked tirelessly for the welfare of humanity as a whole. He lauded the Modi-led government for giving long-overdue recognition and respect to the sacred places associated with Guru Ravidass Ji, thereby preserving his legacy and spreading his message of equality and social harmony across the nation.
