MUMBAI: Vivekanand Education Society invited Shri Ameet Satam, Hon. Member of the Legislative Assembly and Mumbai President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who addressed students on the Union Budget 2026–27 and its impact and implications on February 4, 2026.
Addressing the students, Shri Ameet Satam listed down the Union Budget 2026–27 as a vision document for Gen-Z, highlighting entrepreneurship among MSMEs and young founders, the Government’s human-centric approach to education through initiatives such as girls’ hostels, tourism as a catalyst for economic growth, and emerging opportunities in the creative and orange economies, digital content, gaming and AI. He also linked key Budget priorities to Mumbai’s development and decongestion.
He shared insights on how the Budget provides a strong impetus to manufacturing, noting that a majority of MSME founders are entrepreneurial youth. Calling it a decisive step towards Viksit Bharat 2047, he emphasised the government’s focus on critical areas such as semiconductors, MSMEs, the rare earth corridor and medical tourism. Shri Satam also spoke about the introduction of an internship programme by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for the youth, aimed at bringing fresh perspectives into governance. Additionally, he highlighted the rapid development of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, underscoring their growing role in India’s economic and social progress.
