Lagan Society celebrates spring with soulful splendour: 6th Basant Utsav enthralls Jammu with divine Bhajans and cultural grandeur

JAMMU: Lagan Society for Art and Culture (Regd.) organized “6^th Basant Utsav” (Bhajan Sandhya on Basant Panchmi) at Writer’s Club, Abhinav Theatre Complex, Jammu with great enthusiasm. The event was graced by distinguished personalities from various walks of life, was a surrounding success, leaving the audience enthralled with soulful performances and heartfelt tributes to Indian music and culture.

The event witnessed the gracious presence of Sh.Sanjeev Verma(IAS),Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu as the Chief Guest. In this function, Sh. Gurdev Kumar (JKAS) , Joint Director, School Education, Jammu and Ms. Harvinder Kour (JKAS), Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were the Guests of Honour. Sh. Lal Chand (JKAS), Addl. Secy., JKAACL and Addl. Adv. General, Sh. Sudesh Mangotra was the Special Guest. The function was presided over by JenabSohail Kazmi (Sr. Journalist and Social Activist).The evening commenced with a warm welcome extended by Adv.Sandeep Gupta (Patron, LSAC) followed by mesmerizing performances of young child artists whose innocence and melodious renditions captivated the hearts of all present.

A series of soulful bhajans by renowned artists such as Manju Bala, VipashVaid, Jyotsana Dogra, Advait Sharma, Advik Chowdhery, Parmita Sharma, Lagan Verma, Aditya Sharma, Advaita Verma, Ruhan Jain, Adhaan Jain, Ayushman Bhardwaj, Kritika Chowdhery and Rajesh Kumarkept the audience spellbound. The Musical ensemble featured Mr. Deepak Sharma on the keyboard, Mr. Dheeraj Sharma on theTabla, Mr. AkshayChanan on Dholak and Nelish Sharma on the guitar, adding depth and harmony to the performances.

In his address, Chief Guest of the occasion, Sh. Sanjeev Verma (IAS),Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu lauded the exceptional talent showcased by the young artists and commended President of the society, Mr. Rajesh Kumar for his tireless efforts in channelizing the creative energies of the youth towards music. JenabSohail Kazmi, in his inspiring speech, urged the younger generation to embrace Perseverance and remain steadfast in preserving India’s rich cultural heritage.The evening concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered byMr. Rajesh Kumar, who expressed gratitude to the esteemed guests, the media, and all the artists whose contributions made the event a grand success.

The proceedings of the Bhajan Sandhya was soulfully anchored by Mr. Rohit Bains. The program concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, followed by a tea session for the guests.
