ANANTNAG:  In continuation of its relentless drive against drug peddling, J&K Police in Anantnag apprehended two drug peddlers during routine patrolling at Mirgund near Rehmat Alam Masjid.

A police party from Police Station Anantnag, during routine patrolling at Mirgund near Rehmat Alam Masjid, apprehended two persons identified as Uzair Ashraf Wani son of Mohammad Ashraf Wani and Mujtaba Mehraj son of Mehraj Ahmad Bhat, both residents of Sarnal, Anantnag.

During their checking, charas was recovered from their possession. Consequently, a case vide FIR No. 291/2026 under Sections 8/20 & 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Anantnag, and investigation has been set into motion.

J&K Police reiterates it commitment to eliminating the menace of drugs from society and urges the general public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug trafficking.
