JAMMU: The Directorate of Floriculture, Parks & Gardens, Jammu today organized a one-day Workshop on “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace” (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013- (POSH Act) at its premises here at Har Ki Poudi Road.

Director General, Floriculture, Parks & Gardens Vivek Sharma chaired the event. She shed light on the key provisions of the   POSH Act and emphasized its applicability and relevance to government offices, especially for safeguarding the rights and dignity of female employees.

Ms. Sharma educated the participants—including members of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and other attendees—on their rights under the Act.

A notable highlight of the session was the awareness regarding the recently launched upgraded version of the SHE-BOX (Sexual Harassment Electronic Box) portal. This platform now acts as a centralized repository to monitor data and track complaints under the POSH Act, 2013, and is currently live for public use.

Training was imparted to ICC members by   Joint Director (Planning) Gurneet Kour, who is also Chairperson of the ICC at the Directorate. She underlined the critical need for creating a safe and respectful work environment for women and advocated for regular awareness and sensitization programs across departments.
