BHADERWAH: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bhaderwah today organized a legal literacy camp for effective implementation of Victim Compensation Scheme at Police Station Bhaderwah . The event highlighted the activities organized by the DLSA and discussed the achievements and challenges faced by the legal services community.
The event commenced with a welcome speech by Incharge PS Bhaderwah Shiv Dutt at Legal Aid cilinic PS Bhaderwah where as Panel Lawyer DLSA Adv Mohd Majid Malik who was chief guest, gave a speech highlighting the importance of the Victim Compensation Scheme.Advocate Mohd Majid Malik speak about the key NALSA schemes, including Legal Services to Underprivileged Children (LSUC), Legal Services to Persons with Mental Illness and Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (LSUM), and NALSA DAWN (Drug Awareness and Wellness Navigation for a Drug Free India) Scheme.
Awareness was created regarding substance abuse, its impact on children and society, and the preventive and rehabilitative support available under the DAWN scheme.The legal awareness programs demonstrated DLSA’s commitment to reaching every corner of the area . Through a multitude of initiatives, including legal literacy programs, workshops and awareness campaigns, DLSA Bhaderwah effectively educated citizens about their rights, legal remedies, and the availability of free legal aid services.
The extensive reach of these programs, as evidenced by the participation numbers across various blocks, reflects the impact and success of these efforts.Furthermore, the acknowledgment of the best legal services clinics in Jail and Police Stations along with recognizing the contributions of para-legal volunteers in prisons and communities, showcased the holistic approach taken by DLSA in promoting legal awareness and literacy at different levels of society.
The event celebrated achievements, addressed challenges and served as a powerful platform to advocate for the importance of legal services in ensuring justice and equality for every citizen in District Doda . The programme saw active participation from all PLVs , PSIs and members of the public. The initiative was widely appreciated for promoting legal awareness and community participation.
