BHADERWAH: An awareness drive on the social welfare schemes was today organized here at Bhaderwah jointly by the Social Welfare Department and the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) team. The drive witnessed active participation from local residents, SHG members and community representatives.
The participants were sensitized to key schemes being implemented by the Social Welfare Department, including those meant for women empowerment, child welfare, old age pension, disability assistance and protection-oriented schemes aimed at social security and inclusion.
Officials from the Social Welfare Department and NRLM team elaborated on eligibility criteria, documentation requirements and the application process for availing benefits under different schemes. Emphasis was laid on linking self-help groups (SHGs) with welfare initiatives to promote economic empowerment, financial inclusion and sustainable livelihoods at the grassroots level.
The officials encouraged beneficiaries to come forward, seek guidance from concerned offices and ensure timely registration under various schemes. The initiative reaffirmed the district administrationâs commitment to strengthening last-mile delivery of welfare measures and enhancing public awareness to ensure inclusive and equitable development in the region.
