JAMMU: A Two-Day National Conference on Emerging Trends in Electronics (NCETE-2026) organized by the Department of Electronics commenced today at the University of Jammu. The inaugural session was held in the Seminar Hall of the Department of Computer Science & IT. The inaugural function was graced by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Umesh Rai as Chief Guest and Prof. Nandu B. Chaure from Savitribai Phule Pune University and Prof. B. C. Yadav from BBAU, Lucknow as Guests of Honor.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Prof. Umesh Rai lauded the Department of Electronics for organizing a timely and academically significant conference. He stressed the need for reforms in higher education through activity-based experiential learning and closer integration among interdisciplinary departments such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, and Electronics. He emphasized that such collaborations are essential for developing skill-oriented courses that align with contemporary technological and industrial demands.

The Guests of Honour, Prof. Nandu B. Chaure and Prof. B. C. Yadav emphasized the importance of keeping pace with rapid technological advancements and encouraged students and research scholars to actively participate in academic conferences and seminars for intellectual growth and professional development.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Convener and Head of the Department Prof. Susheel Kumar Sharma, highlighted the department’s commitment to technological innovation, sustainability, and academic excellence. He described the conference as a valuable platform for researchers, faculty members, and students to exchange ideas and foster meaningful collaboration. 

He informed that the conference features 10 invited talks by experts from reputed institutions across the country and includes the presentation of 60 high-quality research papers in both offline and online modes. During the day, 05 invited talks were delivered by Prof. Nandu B. Chaure, Prof. B. C. Yadav, Dr. Rahul Salunke from IIT Jammu, Prof. Sumeet Gupta from SMVDU  and Prof. Naresh Padha.The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Rockey Gupta, organizing secretary.

The event was attended by Prof. Parveen Lehana, Prof. Rakesh Vaid, Dr. Rockey Gupta, Dr. Usha Parihar, Er. Vijay Sharma, Prof. K. K. Bamzai, Prof Sanjeev Singh Sambyal, Prof. Arun Bharti, Er. Anik Gupta, Prof. Ramni Gupta, Prof. Vibhakar Mansotra, Dr. Dharmender Mangotra, Dr. Ravinder Tickoo, other faculty members from the University Teaching Departments and faculty from the neighboring colleges.
