KATRA: The School of Mechanical Engineering, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, organized National online seminar on MEMS and NEMS technologies, which witnessed active participation from the academic community across Jammu &Kashmir.The programme was presided over by Prof. Dr. Balbir Singh, Dean (Academic Affairs), SMVDU, who emphasized the significance of emerging micro- and nano-scale technologies in engineering and healthcare applications.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Eswaramoorthy, Coordinator of the programme, who outlined the objectives of the event and highlighted its academic relevance.The resource person, Prof. (Dr.) Hardik J. Pandya, Associate Professor, Department of Electronic Systems Engineering (ECE), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and a recipient of the NIH Grant, delivered two technical sessions on MEMS and NEMS technologies.

The talks covered the fundamentals of MEMS/NEMS, recent innovations and interdisciplinary applications, as well as fabrication methods and associated challenges. He also provided valuable insights into human-intensive healthcare technologies, with a special focus on advanced biomedical and sensor-based applications. A total of 64 participants from across Jammu & Kashmir attended the online programme.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Rajiv Kumar co-cordinator of the event, who acknowledged the support and encouragement provided by the Head, Mechanical Engineering; Dean, Faculty of Engineering; and the Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, for the successful organization of the event.
