SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo  paid rich tributes to Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah on his 120th birth anniversary. In a grand ceremony held in his remembrance at the historic mausoleum of the great leader at Qaid Mazaar, Naseem Bagh Hazratbal here today, Minister Sakeena offered special prayers and laid floral wreaths, recalling Sher-i-Kashmir’s unparalleled contribution to the socio-political awakening of Jammu & Kashmir.

The Minister described Sheikh Abdullah as “a towering statesman whose vision of empowerment, dignity, and justice continues to inspire generations”. She added that the  enduring legacy of championing the rights and aspirations of the people by Sher-i-Kashmir remains a guiding light for entire Jammu and Kashmir.

The Minister emphasized that Sher-i-Kashmir’s principles of secularism, inclusivity, and grassroots empowerment hold deep relevance in today’s times. She reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to carry forward his mission with sincerity and dedication, ensuring that his ideals continue to shape policies aimed at welfare, unity and progress.

The Minister further said that by remembering this day of great leader, we remind ourselves  of his lifelong struggle for the rights, dignity and empowerment of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
