JAMMU: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former State Secretary, Pawan Sharma, has strongly criticized the National Conference (NC) government and its leadership for making Urdu language proficiency mandatory in the recently advertised recruitment for the post of Naib Tehsildar. Sharma urged the Omar Abdullah Government to reassess the eligibility criteria for these posts.
Sharma asserted that imposing such a condition denies fair employment opportunities to deserving youth across Jammu and Kashmir, particularly those who are not well-versed in Urdu. He termed it a violation of constitutional rights, as it disregards the region’s linguistic diversity and the spirit of equality enshrined in the Constitution.
“Excluding capable candidates on the basis of language is not only discriminatory but also undermines the aspirations of thousands of unemployed youth,” said Sharma. “The BJP remains firmly committed to protecting the rights and interests of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Sharma demanded that the Omar Abdullah Government should reassess the eligibility criteria for Naib Tehsildar posts. He suggested that the government should consult with all stakeholders, including the public, to ensure that the recruitment process is fair, transparent, merit-based and justified.
harma emphasized that the BJP will continue to raise its voice for fairness and justice in the recruitment process. He urged the government to take immediate action to address the concerns raised by the party and ensure that the recruitment process for Naib Tehsildar posts is fair, transparent and justified.
