BARAMULLA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today convened a meeting of all concerned officers at DC Office Complex here to review the progress achieved under different indicators of Aspirational District Programme (ADP). The meeting held threadbare discussion and reviewed the progress achieved under various indicators including health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion, and basic infrastructure.

During the meeting, other related sectors were also thoroughly discussed during which the DC emphasized the need for sustained efforts to address developmental gaps and to further improve the district’s overall performance under the ADP framework. The DC directed the concerned department to take concerted measures for increasing the percentage of agricultural land covered under sprinkler, drip, and other forms of micro-irrigation, with the objective to sustainable farming practices across the district.

Minga Sherpa further called for effective strategies to address key challenges, urging all departments to work with greater dedication to elevate the district from Aspirational to Performer. Joint Director Planning, Javed Ahmad, Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Medical Officer and other District Officers attended the meeting.
