Kupwara Terriers (TA) attestation parade held with Military Pomp, young soldiers take oath to serve the nation

SRINAGAR: The Attestation Parade for the new soldiers of Kupwara Terriers (TA) was conducted with military decorum and discipline at Kupwara on 26 December 2025. The parade marked a proud and momentous occasion for the young soldiers, their parents and the region alike. The ceremony symbolised the formal induction of young soldiers into the Kupwara Terriers, reaffirming their oath to serve the Nation with integrity, honour and dedication.

Senior Army officers, civil dignitaries, families of the soldiers, Ex-servicemen and esteemed members of the local community witnessed the parade. The event showcased immaculate drill, discipline and high morale of the soldiers, reflecting the professionalism and preparedness of the Territorial Army. Addressing the troops, the Reviewing Officer, General Officer Commanding, GOC 15 Corps congratulated the young soldiers and highlighted the vital role of the Territorial Army in National security and in Nation Building.

The Recruitment for the Territorial Army Battalion had commenced under aegis of the Vajra Division in November 2024. This drive witnessed unprecedented participation from the youth of Kupwara&Bandipora and 313 aspirants were finally selected for the rigorous training at Jammu and Kashmir Rifles Regimental Centre, Jabalpur. The Attestation Parade of Kupwara Terriers is the culmination of successful military training of the soldiers who underwent months of rigorous training.

The Attestation Parade post arduous training had a significant and reassuring impact on the parents & local population who expressed joy and pride in seeing their kith & kin joining the folds of the Indian Army. Overall, the Attestation Parade of Kupwara Terriers bears testimony to spirit of National Service amongst the youth of the region.
