Thousands of participants, including judicial officers, students, government officials, NCC cadets, inmates, and citizens, gathered across courts, colleges, stadiums, heritage sites, and jails, performing synchronized yoga sessions under the guidance of trained instructors.

SRINAGAR: To commemorate âInternational Day of Yoga'-2025 (IDY), District Legal Services Authorities on Friday organised mega functions across all the District Court Complexes of Kashmir under the theme âYoga for One Earth, One Health,â reflecting the holistic benefits of yoga in building individual and community well-being.
The practice of yoga asanas or postures enables individuals to attain control over their mind, body and soul, and how it combines physical and mental disciplines to foster a state of serenity in both body and mind, helping to manage stress and anxiety while promoting relaxation.
In Srinagar, District Judiciary Srinagar and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar, in collaboration with the department of Ayush, Srinagar, observed International Yoga Day 2025 with zeal and devotion at the District Court Complex, Srinagar.
The event was held under the guidance of Tasleem Arief, Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman, DLSA Srinagar) and under the supervision of Sajad Ur Rehman, Sub-Judge/Secretary, DLSA Srinagar.
The celebration was attended by all the Learned Judicial Officers of the District Judiciary, Srinagar, whose participation lent dignity and inspiration to the occasion.
The program commenced with a live yoga demonstration by professional instructor, followed by a mass yoga session in which a large number of participants, including Judicial Officers, lawyers, Legal Aid Defence Counsels, Para Legal Volunteers, Administrative & Judicial Staff of District Court Srinagar and staff members of DLSA Srinagar enthusiastically took part. The session created a serene and energizing environment, symbolizing unity, mindfulness, and shared purpose.
A special lecture was delivered highlighting the relevance of yoga in reducing stress, enhancing mental clarity, and promoting emotional and physical well-being.
Addressing the gathering, Pr. District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, emphasized that yoga is not merely an exercise regime but a philosophy of balanced living that aligns personal health with the well-being of the earth. He encouraged everyone to embrace yoga as a daily practice to achieve holistic wellness and contribute to collective sustainability.
In addition to the vibrant celebration held at the District Court Complex Srinagar, International Yoga Day was also observed at various Legal Aid Clinics including Central Jail Srinagar and the Juvenile Observation Home.
In Baramulla, District Judiciary Baramulla and the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Baramulla celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June at the Court Complex Baramulla.
The event was organized under the guidance of the Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of DLSA Baramulla, and was supervised by the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Baramulla.
Members of the legal fraternity participated in the event with enthusiasm. Participants included Judicial Officers posted at the District Headquarters, President and senior members of the Bar Association Baramulla, Legal Aid Defence Counsels, Panel Lawyers, ministerial staff of the courts, staff of DLSA Baramulla, and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs).
A Yoga session was held on the court lawns where trained Yoga instructors and national-level Yoga players from the department of Youth Services and Sports demonstrated various Yoga asanas. Participants actively took part in the session, which created a spirit of unity, peace, and positivity.

At Ganderbal, District Judiciary, Ganderbal, and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ganderbal, in collaboration with department of AYUSH, Ganderbal, celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day today at District Court complex, Ganderbal.
The event was conducted under the chairmanship of Abdul Nasir, Chairman, DLSA, Ganderbal and was attended by all judicial officers posted at the District headquarter Ganderbal, officers and officials of the department of AYUSH Ganderbal, staff members of the District Judiciary Ganderbal, DLSA Ganderbal, LADCs of DLSA Ganderbal, and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of district Ganderbal.

District & Sessions Judge), Pulwama.
The programme was attended by Chairman District Legal Services Authority (PDJ) Pulwama, and other judicial officers of district Pulwama along with their staff members, including DLSA staff, LADCs lawyers and PLVs.
On the occasion, Chairman DLSA Pulwama addressed the gathering and highlighted the benefits of Yoga, and also advised the participants to avoid drug abuse. Chairman DLSA also made all the participants pledge against drug abuse. Moreover, International Yoga Day was also celebrated at TLSCs Tral, Awantipora, and Pampore of district Pulwama.
In Kulgam, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kulgam, celebrated International Yoga Day in collaboration with District Judiciary Kulgam and Dept. of Ayush, Kulgam today on 21 June, 2025. The event was organized under the chairmanship of Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Kulgam.

In Shopian, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian today celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day at the District Court Complex, Shopian. The event was held under the guidance and supervision of the Chairman, DLSA Shopian, Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhary.
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from Judicial Officers, Advocates, Legal Aid Defense Counsels, Court Staff, DLSA officials, and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs). - DYSS celebrates International Yoga Day with enthusiasm at Khel Gaon
JAMMU: In harmony with the theme of International Yoga Day 2025, "Yoga for One Earth, One Health," emphasising the deep link between personal wellness and the health of the planet, the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) involved thousands of students, officials, senior citizens and people from all walks of life in Yoga activities to celebrate the day in true spirit of its theme here at Khel Gaon Nagrota.
Around 1,500 students, officials and senior citizens attended the event with great enthusiasm and fervour, enjoying the moment that brought extreme bliss and ecstasy to everybodyâs mind. Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K Anuradha Gupta, was the chief guest for the event.
Several officers including Joint Director YSS Jammu, Vinakshi Koul; Deputy Director YSS Central, Jitender Mishra; Deputy Director YSS Planning, Ravi Kumar Sharma; Accounts Officer Directorate, Sunil Kumar Sharma and District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma and other officers of DYSS. She said that the Department of Youth Services and Sports has incorporated yoga in its annual activity calendar and shall continue to promote it. JAMMU: The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated today at the High Court Complex, Janipur, Jammu under the patronage of Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Justice Arun Palli, with immense enthusiasm and fervor. Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Transport, Satish Sharma, participated in the mega event held at Gulshan Ground as chief guest.
Speaking on the significance of the day, the Minister said, " under one sky and with one spirit, thousands of yoga lovers from Jammu & Kashmir have come together to spread the message of harmony, wellness and unity.â He highlighted the significance of this yearâs theme titled âYoga for One Earth, One Healthâ, underscoring yogaâs vital role in promoting not just physical fitness, but holistic well-being and environmental harmony.
"India, the birthplace of Yoga, has given the world a priceless legacy, an age-old science that unites the body, mind and the soul,â he said. Satish Sharma noted that more than 170 countries now observe International Yoga Day, following Indiaâs proposal to the United Nations. He emphasized how Yoga has become a universal movement for health and inner peace.
"In todayâs stressful world, students frequently face emotional and academic pressures. Yoga is one of the best tools to overcome these challenges. It helps control stress, calm the mind and reduce anxiety. I urge our youth and masses to incorporate Yoga into their daily routine. It will not only enhance their mental and emotional strength but also build confidence and focus, maintained the Minister.â
Acknowledging the efforts of the J&K government in mainstreaming Yoga across all sectors, the Minister said that from integrating Yoga in school curriculums to establishing AYUSH Wellness Centres and launching community outreach programmes, the government is ensuring access to natural, preventive and holistic healthcare for every citizen.

- Serene Gatha Park Bhaderwah hosts main event
DODA: The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great excitement and energy across District Doda, with the main event held at the picturesque Gatha Park in Bhaderwah. More than 2600 people, including school students, government officials, senior citizens, NCC cadets, PRI members and differently-abled persons joined the event in presence of the Chief Guest DDC Chairman, Dhananter Singh Kotwal, Guest of Honour Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh and dozens of government functionaries. The event began with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a refreshing yoga session led by well-known Yoga Expert Acharya Shri Anil.
One of the most special parts of the event was the active participation of differently-abled people and senior citizens in the âYog Samaveshâ session, showing that yoga is for everyone. A tree plantation drive themed âHarit Yogaâ was also launched by the chief guest to spread the message of health and a clean environment. Along with this, a cleanliness drive was held near water bodies and nearby areas to promote hygiene and care for nature.
To make the event more fun for children, a painting competition on the theme of yoga was organized. A âYoga Unplugged Zoneâ was also set up for the youth, encouraging them to connect with yoga in a creative way.

JAMMU: Forest Protection Force (FPF) along with Department of Wildlife Protection celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga at former Gamma Unit, Sidhra. The officers and field staff of both departments enthusiastically participated in the event. The PCCF/Director Forest Protection Force & Chief Wildlife Warden addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of yoga in daily life.

DIG DKR Range Shridhar Patil, SSP Kulbir Singh, ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak, ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo, senior officers, members of civil society, youth and other prominent citizens actively participated in the district-level celebration held at the District Administrative Complex, in collaboration with the Department of AYUSH.
Over 1200 individuals including senior citizens, school children, women, and officials took part in the event. The celebrations extended beyond the district headquarters to sub-division and tehsil levels in Gool, Banihal, Ramsoo, Ukhral, Pogal-Paristan, Batote, Rajgarh, Khari and other areas. JAMMU: The Directorate of Health Services Jammu celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga today with great fervour and enthusiasm aligning with this yearâs theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health ". A synchronised relaxing and soothing yoga demonstration for mental wellbeing was led by volunteers Ishan Bhat, Umang Koul and Shubham Singh from ISHA Foundation (Miracle of Mind Sadhguru).
The event featured the âMiracle of Mindâ programâa powerful initiative designed by Sadhguru to support mental well-being through a simple, guided 7-minute meditation. Just seven minutes a day can be a transformative step towards a more joyful and stress-free lifeâ.
The Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar along with Deputy Director Schemes Dr. Poonam Sethi, Deputy Director Dentistry Dr. Sanjay Sharma and all Officers and Officials of the Directorate performed the Yoga Asanas. The session aimed to equip participants with practical tools to manage stress and enhance emotional balance.
In his address, the Director Health Services Jammu emphasized on the benefits of practicing yoga and impressed upon all to make it a daily routine to boost physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. JAMMU: District Legal Services Authority Jammu, under the guidance of Chairman, Y. P. Bourney, (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge), commemorated the 11th International Day of Yoga by organising a yoga session cum awareness program here in the Lawyersâ Chamber Conference Hall, District Court Complex. The programme was conducted under the supervision of Ritesh Dubey, Additional District and Sessions Judge & Dr. Smriti Sharma, Secretary District Legal Services Authority.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Judicial Officers, LADCs, Panel Lawyers, PLVs and court staff, who gathered early in the morning to participate in the yoga session led by certified instructors from the Art of Living.
The event focused on this yearâs theme âYoga for One Earth, One Health.â emphasizing the importance of yoga in achieving holistic health. The yoga session was expertly conducted by Professor and State Coordinator (STC), Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh of Art of Living Trust, Rajan Salalia, along with two subordinates.
The session included guided breathing exercises (Pranayama), yoga postures (Asanas) and meditation, promoting physical health, mental clarity and emotional well-being. KATHUA: Government Degree College Ramkote celebrated 11th International Yoga Day amid enthusiastic participation of students, faculty and staff. RAMBAN: District Legal Services Authority, Ramban today celebrated 11th International Yoga Day by organizing a Yoga Session in collaboration with Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School. - GCOE celebrates International Yoga Day
SRINAGAR: The Physical Education department of Government College of Education (GCOE) today celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz to promote the holistic benefits of yoga and foster awareness among participants.
The celebration was part of Yoga Sangam, the PAN India mass yoga demonstration. The celebration commenced with participants listening to the live-streamed address of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi from Visakhapatnam, broadcast on a large screen at the venue.

Attendees on the occasion joined the Honâble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually in the celebration of Yoga Day.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom highlighted the significance of yoga in promoting holistic health. He further urged the residents of Pulwama to incorporate daily yoga practice into their routines for improved physical and mental health and utilise services of AYUSH and Health departments.

At Kulgam, International Yoga Day-2025 was celebrated across district Kulgam with the main function held at the lawns of the mini-secretariat, Kulgam. A mega event was held at Mini-Secretariat where Chairperson DDC Kulgam, M Afzal Parrey; Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan joined the yoga session.
A large number of locals, officers and officials of various departments, students of various schools/institutions also participated in the Yoga sessions. On the occasion participants performed different Yoga Asanas and were also briefed about the benefits of yoga which is a great practice for both the body and mind. Yoga sessions were also held at schools, colleges and other institutions in the district.
At Shopian, the main event in connection with International Yoga Day was organized at Mini-Secretariat Shopian where a large number of participants from various departments, educational institutions, civil society groups and the general public took part in the yoga session.
The event commenced with a mass yoga demonstration as per the common yoga protocol, guided by trained instructors from the department of AYUSH. Similar programmes were held at sub-division, tehsil and block levels across the district, ensuring wide participation from all sections of society. The sessions were also held in GDC Shopian, GDC Zainapora, Higher secondary school of the district along with the Ayush and Wellness centres.

The main event was organized at Government Degree College Kupwara, where hundreds of participants, including school children, government officials, health workers, security personnel, and yoga enthusiasts, performed common yoga protocol as guided by trained instructors. The session was led by expert yoga trainers, who emphasized the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of regular yoga practice.

At Bandipora, district administration Bandipora organized enthusiastic celebrations to mark the International Yoga Day across the district, with the main events held at S.K. Stadium Bandipora and Wullar Vantage Park, Garoora. The occasion witnessed massive participation from students, government officials, volunteers, and the general public.
At S.K. Stadium Bandipora, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora, Harmeet Singh Mehta, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl attended the event and participated in the mass yoga session, joining hundreds of citizens in observing the day.

KATHUA: Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority, J&K Legal Services Authority and under the esteemed guidance of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Kathua Jatinder Singh Jamwal (Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kathua), DLSA Kathua celebrated International Yoga Day today.

JAMMU: Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation and Mission Director Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) 2.0 J&K Urban Dr. Devansh Yadav today presided over the International Yoga Day celebrations at Bhartiya Yog Sansthan as the Chief Guest. The event witnessed a large and enthusiastic turnout, symbolizing the city's strong commitment to health, wellness and collective civic responsibility.
A standout moment of the day was a compelling Nukkad Natak (street play) themed âNaa Thapad Se Naa Gaali Se, Hum Samjhayenge Taali Seâ (Not by Slapping or Scolding, but by Applauding, We Will Convince), presented by artists from Kalakar Manch.
Organized by the Jammu Municipal Corporation in collaboration with the Department of Art, Culture and Languages, the performance powerfully conveyed the impact of positive reinforcement in bringing about social changeâechoing the ethos of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The program was effectively coordinated by Health Officer JMC Dr. Vinod Sharma and VAS Dr. Priyanka Malhotra, whose efforts ensured meaningful engagement of the public and the smooth execution of the event. In addition to the cultural program, the âPlastic Lao, Thela Lejaoâ initiative was held at the venue.
The Citizens were encouraged to exchange plastic waste for eco-friendly cloth bags, with over 450 bags distributed during the drive. The initiative, supervised by Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, aimed at promoting sustainable habits and reducing plastic usage among the community.
Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM partnered as the official radio broadcaster for the event, amplifying the message of yoga, sustainability and community empowerment across the city.
In his address, Dr. Devansh Yadav praised the collaborative efforts of organizers, performers, and citizens. He urged everyone to internalize the values of cleanliness, health and social harmony in their daily lives and reaffirmed the administrationâs commitment to promoting such inclusive, impactful initiatives that shape a cleaner, greener and healthier Jammu.
- International Day of Yoga 2025; Yoga session held at District Jail Bhaderwah
BHADERWAH: To commemorate the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY), two special events were organized here to promote the physical and mental benefits of yoga among the public. At the District Jail Bhaderwah, a yoga session was conducted for 129 jail inmates.
The event was graced by the presence of Principal District and Sessions Judge Balbir Lal Jaiswal, Secretary DLSA Tabrez Ahmed and Superintendent of District Jail Hameed-Ullah Naik. The demonstration was led by Nidhi Padha, a certified Yoga Therapist and Faizan Ul Haq, Yoga Instructor.
The dignitaries appreciated the initiative for its focus on the rehabilitation and well-being of inmates. Meanwhile, another yoga session was held at the Gurukul Institute of Paramedical Courses, where 39 participants took part in a guided yoga demonstration conducted by Faizan Ul Haq, Yoga Instructor from Ayush Health and Wellness Centre, Drudhu. The session aimed to create awareness about the holistic health benefits of yoga among students and staff.
Both events reflected the commitment of local institutions and the District Administration towards promoting a healthier lifestyle through yoga, fostering peace, discipline and mental well-being among all age groups.

DODA: In a remarkable display of unity, discipline, and unwavering commitment to health and wellness, the 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with immense fervor across all government and private schools in District Doda. The district-wide celebrations, a testament to collective spirit, were meticulously organized under the expert guidance of the District Development Commissioner, Harvinder Singh and the supervision of the Chief Education Officer Mohammad Hafiz.
The initiative saw a massive outpouring of participation from Students, Teachers, NSS volunteers and members of the civil society, transforming every school campus into a vibrant space brimming with synchronized yoga postures and mindful breathing exercises.
Special yoga sessions were conducted in both rural and urban schools, where trained instructors and dedicated physical education teachers skillfully led students through a series of Asanas, pranayama and meditation. The primary focus remained on amplifying awareness about the profound physical, mental and spiritual benefits of integrating yoga into daily life.
Adding to the grandeur, the District Administration Doda orchestrated key events at picturesque locations like the Lake View Resort Gatha Bhaderwah and Lal Draman, Sazan. Here, students delivered captivating group yoga demonstrations, showcased mesmerizing yoga-themed dances and presented eloquent speeches underscoring the global significance of this ancient Indian practice.
District Development Commissioner Harvinder Singh commended the Department of School Education Doda for its effective mobilization of youth and their dedication to promoting a culture of wellness, harmony and inner peace. He highlighted that these efforts were perfectly aligned with this yearâs theme, "Yoga for One Earth, One Health."

- District Administration Rajouri celebrates 11th International Yoga Day with grand event at Sports Stadium Kheora
RAJOURI: The District Administration Rajouri, in collaboration with the Department of AYUSH, today celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm and public participation at the Sports Stadium Kheora. The event witnessed a turnout of over 1000 participants who enthusiastically performed various yoga asanas under expert guidance.
The theme for this year's celebration, âYoga for One Earth, One Healthâ, aptly highlighted the importance of unity, compassion and holistic well-being. A live streaming of the address by the Prime Minister was also broadcast at the venue, setting the tone for the day. Expert yoga instructors from the Directorate of AYUSH, J&K, conducted the yoga session and guided the participants through a series of asanas and breathing exercises aimed at enhancing physical and mental well-being.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma underscored the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life. He said that regular practice of yoga not only strengthens the body but also brings harmony between the mind and soul, promoting overall wellness.
Similar yoga events were simultaneously organized across all sub-divisions of the district, including special sessions in vibrant villages near the Line of Control (LOC) and at picturesque Amrit Sarovars, ensuring widespread public involvement and outreach.
The event saw the presence of DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, Tejinder Singh, SSP Rajouri, Gaurav Sikarwar, Principal Government Medical College Rajouri, senior officers from district and sectoral departments, civil society members, students and a large number of women participants.
The event was coordinated under the supervision of Dr. Rakesh Kumar Shan, District AYUSH Officer Rajouri and Dr. Raj Kumar Bajaj, Nodal Officer for the event. The programme concluded with the serving of refreshments to all the participants, marking the end of a successful and rejuvenating celebration of International Yoga Day in the district.
- GDC Kastigarh celebrates 11th International Yoga Day
DODA: Govt. Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College, Kastigarh celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and active participation. Aligning with this yearâs theme âYoga for One Earth, One Healthâ the event was organized under the guidance of the college Principal, Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra. The celebration began with a peaceful serenity prayer led by Dr. Anupam Lata, creating a spiritual atmosphere for the session.
Principal Prof. Mangotra addressed the gathering and emphasized the significance of celebrating International Yoga Day. Students and staff members actively performed various yoga asanas and pranayama under the supervision of Dr. Arjun Singh, PTI of the college. Dr. Arjun also addressed the audience and elaborated on the importance of incorporating yoga into daily routines for holistic well-being.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Anupam Lata. Several faculty members including Assistant Prof. Sat Pal, Mr. Manmohan, Sachin Thakur, Gulam Qadir and others contributed to the success of the event.
- Excise & Taxation Training Institute Nagrota celebrates International Yoga Day
JAMMU: To mark the International Yoga Day, a grand event on the theme ' ONE EARTH, ONE HEALTH ' was organized in the campus of Excise and Taxation Training Institute Nagrota today. The yoga session was attended by the staff members and the senior officers of the department including Excise Commissioner Subash Chander Chibber, all the Deputy Excise Commissioners and Excise & Taxation Officers.
The event was organized in collaboration with Heartfulness Institute. Sourabh Sharma and Puran Singh Manhas along with their team were present as resource persons/trainers for the yoga event. The one-hour yoga session started with a small introduction on yoga by the resource persons followed by practicing of key asanas and a meditation session.
The Excise Commissioner, J&K urged the staff members to incorporate yoga in their daily life as a healthy individual can better contribute to the nation and society. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Deputy Excise Commissioner (Accounts), J&K, Jammu Tinna Mahajan with additional charge of Principal Training Institute Nagrota and presentation of mementos to the members of the Heartfulness Organization by the Excise Commissioner and Deputy Excise Commissioners.
