Bringing pride to Government Medical College Jammu and department of orthopaedics, Dr Bias Dev Associate professor presented a very cost effective self invented procedure, in the category of innovations, at the annual conference of spine surgeons recently held at Pune. The GMC Jammu Surgeon also presented a paper on results of lumbar discectomy with fenestration, a minimally invasive technique for relieving symptoms arising out of prolapsed intervertebral lumbar disc disease. Presentations at such professional meetings and conferences bring recognition to the institution's work at the national level.
It is pertinent to mention that the GMC Jammu’s department of orthopaedics is offering all kinds of spine services and has become a prominent spine centre of north India in Govt. sector.
The department tackles all kinds of spine ailments under the visionary leadership of Dr Sanjeev Gupta, Head of the department and unrelenting support from the Department of Anaesthesia, Department of Radiology, Principal, Dr. Ashutosh Gupta and higher administration from time to time for meeting the logistic challenges.
Dr. Mohd Farooq Butt, Associate Professor, Dr. Fareed Mallik, Associate Professor, Dr. Navdeep Singh Consultant and Dr. Akhil Gupta, Consultant also attended the conference and actively participated in the deliberations on the recent advances in endoscopic procedures.
