KATRA: SMVDU, Jan 2026: Students from the School of Business, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), have brought  pride to the university with their  performance at the 3rd Chancellor’s Trophy 2025–26 for Men and Women, organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu. Aniket Singh, an MBA First Year student, delivered an exceptional performance by securing four bronze medals in the following events: 4×100 m Men’s Relay, 4×100 m Mixed (Men & Women) Relay, 4×400 m Relay and High Jump. Aditya Bhardwaj, a BBA Second Year student, also made his mark by winning bronze medals in 4×400 m Relay and 4×100 m Relay.

The prestigious inter-university tournament witnessed the participation of around 800 athletes from the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and neighboring states, making it a truly mega sporting event. The School of Business congratulated both students for their remarkable achievements and for inspiring their peers to actively participate in sports and extracurricular activities. 

Dr. Arti Maini expressed her appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the SMVDU Sports Wing in training and facilitating students to compete at such large-scale events. She highlighted the importance of institutional support in nurturing sporting talent alongside academics. Prof. Ashutosh Vashishtha emphasized that the department strongly encourages sports participation to promote the mental and physical well-being of future managers and entrepreneurs.

He also extended his gratitude to Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, for fostering a university culture that supports holistic development. Living up to its tagline, “Inspired by Legacy, Driven by Vision,” the School of Business continues to nurture well-rounded professionals. Admissions to the BBA and MBA programs are now open for the upcoming academic session.
