KATRA: The valedictory ceremony of the seven-day special camp of the National Service Scheme (NSS) was successfully organized at Basohli (Vishwastali) with great enthusiasm and active participation. The camp aimed at promoting social responsibility, discipline, and community service among the volunteers.The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, ADC Shri. Pankaj Bhagotra, JKAS, whose presence motivated volunteers during the event.
CDPO (Child Development Project Officer) Shri Rakesh Kumar also attended the ceremony as a distinguished guest.During the event, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts and dedication of NSS volunteers who actively participated in cleanliness drives, awareness programmes, physical fitness activities, and social service initiatives throughout the seven days. He applauded the volunteers for their disciplined conduct and sincere service during the camp.
The programme also featured cultural performances by NSS volunteers, including dance , song and poetry performances, which reflected the rich cultural heritage and unity among students. These performances were highly appreciated by the audience.On this occasion, neighbouring residents, who provided continuous support and cooperation during the seven-day camp, were honoured as a token of gratitude for their valuable contribution.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to NSS volunteers in recognition of their active participation and commitment throughout the camp. NSS coordinators Dr. Rajiv Kumar and Dr. Kamaldeep thanked district administration for all the support like accommodation, logistics etc. during the special camp. The programme ended with a vote of thanks, marking a memorable and successful conclusion to the NSS 7-Day Special Camp at Basohli. Basohli taught volunteers lessons beyond classrooms—how to live together, respect culture, help others, and grow as responsible citizens.
