UDHAMPUR: An impactful Road Safety awareness event was organized today at Army Public School Udhampur to educate the students, staff and the local community about safe road usage, traffic rules and preventive measures to minimize accidents. The event was graced by Secretary Transport Department, Avny Lavasa and DIG, Udhampur-Reasi Range, Sarah Rizvi as the chief guests. Their presence underscored the importance of inter-departmental coordination in promoting road safety across the region.

Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Mudassir Iqbal and the host School Principal Dr. Sanjeev Kumar coordinated the programme. During the programme, interactive sessions, demonstrations and awareness talks were delivered to highlight the importance of adhering to speed limit, use of helmets and seat belts, avoiding mobile phone usage while driving and responsible behaviour on the roads. The students actively participated, gaining valuable insights into becoming responsible road users and advocates for safety in their communities.

The initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of the Transport Department and law enforcement agencies to foster a culture of road safety, especially among the younger generation, in line with the National Road Safety Month objectives. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all the participants, organizers and the Chief Guests for their valuable contributions towards building safer roads in Udhampur.
