SUNDERBANI: The MSME–Development & Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), Jammu, on Tuesday organised an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Sunderbani, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment among local youth.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from trainees of Govt. ITI, Sunderbani, who were sensitised about the vast scope, emerging opportunities, and institutional support available under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. The initiative focused on motivating young trainees to consider self-employment as a sustainable and rewarding career option.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Govt. ITI, Sunderbani, Shri Rajinder Singh highlighted the crucial role of skill development and vocational training in building sustainable livelihood opportunities. He urged trainees to leverage their technical skills to establish their own enterprises.
The Branch Manager of J&K Bank, Sunderbani, briefed participants on various banking facilities, credit-linked schemes, and financial assistance available for MSMEs, underlining the pivotal role of banks in nurturing entrepreneurship.
A Block Investigator from the District Industries Centre (DIC) informed the trainees about MSME registration procedures, government incentives, and the support extended by DIC for enterprise development at the grassroots level.
Investigator from MSME-DFO Jammu, Shri Ankit Sharma, delivered a detailed presentation on key MSME schemes, including Udyam Registration, skill development programmes, and market support initiatives, encouraging participants to avail these benefits for setting up and strengthening their ventures.
The programme also featured an interactive session where trainees actively raised queries and expressed keen interest in entrepreneurship. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Young Professional, MSME-DFO Jammu.
