KISHTWAR: Motor Vehicle Department Kishtwar, in collaboration with Traffic Police, Health & Ayush Department, on Thursday organised a Free Medical Cum Eye Screening Camp for Drivers, Cleaners and Transporters here at Bunjwah.

Over 50 drivers received free medical check-ups and health screenings conducted by a team of medical professionals from Health & Ayush Department. They were also provided free medicines as per the requirement. Rapid drug tests of 15 drivers were also conducted during the camp, along with raising awareness on safe driving practices and drug abuse.

Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Tasleem Wani said the   drivers are major stakeholders in road safety and the advised them to go for regular health check-ups. He emphasised that ensuring the physical fitness of drivers not only safeguards their personal health but also contributes to overall road safety.

He thanked BMO Kishtwar and District Officer Ayush, the team of   Doctors & other health officials, Incharge Police Post Jawalapur & Transporters of Bunjwah for providing the necessary support for organising the programme.
