BUDGAM: As part of the run-up activities for the commemoration of 150 years of the national song “Vande Mataram”, group singing programmes were organised at various locations across Khansahib subdivision, evoking a spirit of patriotism and unity among the participants.
The most prominent group singing ceremony was held at the Forest Range Office, Raithan, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from officials of the Forest Department as well as local residents.
In addition to the cultural activities, the Forest Range Office, Raithan, conducted an extensive plantation drive across its jurisdiction. Hundreds of conifer saplings were distributed among locals, who were encouraged to plant more trees during the spring season to enhance green cover and contribute towards improving the Air Quality Index.
Meanwhile, the Department of Sericulture also undertook a mulberry plantation drive along the main road leading to Doodhpathri. The initiative aims to promote silkworm rearing and generate sustainable employment opportunities for local residents.
