DODA: An awareness programme was organized today at Madrasa Albnatus Sallihat, Chatro Bhagwah under the Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat campaign. The programme aimed at sensitizing students, teachers, religious scholars and members of the local community to the legal protections against child marriage, its social consequences and the adverse impact on the physical, mental and educational well-being of children.
Special emphasis was laid on the pivotal role of religious institutions in creating awareness and mobilizing society to prevent the practice of child marriage. The resource persons highlighted the provisions of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act and underscored the collective responsibility of parents, community leaders and religious institutions in safeguarding the rights of children and ensuring their holistic development. The participants were urged to act as ambassadors of change by spreading awareness and reporting any instances of child marriage in their respective areas.
