JAMMU: The Central University of Jammu (CUJ) students brought laurels to the University by winning Silver and Bronze medals in the 3rd Chancellor’s Trophy, organised by the University of Jammu. The prestigious inter-university sports event witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing various universities and colleges across the region in disciplines such as Basketball, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, and Football.
The Basketball team of CUJ, led by Captain Ayushtosh and guided by Dr. R. Sudhakar, Assistant Director (Sports), delivered an impressive performance to secure the Silver Medal, showcasing exceptional teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Adding to the University’s success, the Girls’ Kho-Kho team of CUJ, under the leadership of their Captain and mentored by Dr. Kiran, Assistant Director (Sports), earned the Bronze Medal, demonstrating agility, coordination, and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.
The winning teams were warmly felicitated and applauded by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, who expressed great satisfaction with the growing sporting potential and dedication of CUJ students. He lauded their commitment and emphasized the importance of sports in holistic personality development.
Prof. Vandana Sharma, Director (I/c), Directorate of Physical Education, congratulated the teams on their commendable achievements and assured all possible support from the University for the continued development and excellence of students in sports.
