JAMMU: A three days teacher's training programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment was organised at BSF Seniors Secondary School Jammu from July 02, 2025 to Jul04, 2025 on the theme NAVCHETNA- A Module on Life Skills and Drug Education for School Children. The training programme was held under the visionary leadership of the Chairman of the School Shri. Shashank Anand, IPS, IG BSF Jammu Frontier and the able guidance of Principal Dr S.K. Shukla.
The Resource Persons Mrs. Pallavi and Mrs. Pinki from the Society for the Promotion of Youth and Masses(SPYM) conducted the training of the teachers to address the need for the Drug Education in Schools. The Navchetna programme is national initiative under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, which aims to reach a large number of teachers and students across the country.
The primary objective of the training was to enhance awareness and equip teachers to deliver effective Life Skills and Drug Education to students and also tackle drug related issues among School Children. The teachers were successfully trained to conduct sessions as per the modules to counter the menace of drug use. The entire programme consisted of multiple sessions ranging from understanding life skills and drug education to managing peer pressure, violence and anger among school children.
Principal Dr S.K Shukla in his address thanked the Chairman of the school Shri. Shashank Anand, IPS, IG BSF Jammu Frontier for his support and guidance and also for providing such fruitful platforms through which teachers learn to keep themselves abreast with the growing needs in the field of education.
