  • Reviews delivery of Legal aid Services by Panel Lawyers

SAMBA: Under the aegis of NALSA and as per the Action Plan issued by the J&K Legal Services Authority for the month of April, 2024 and under the Supervision and guidance of Adnan Sayeed, Chairman, Monitoring and Mentoring Committee Samba (also Pr. Distt & Sessions Judge), Mentoring & Monitoring Committee today met in the Conference Hall of District Court Complex to monitor the Court based Legal Services rendered and the progress of the cases in Legal Aided Matters and to guide and advise the Panel Lawyers.

The meeting was chaired by the Chairman DLSA, while the Secretary DLSA and Senior Advocate Vijay Gupta joined the meeting as members of the Monitoring and Mentoring Committee. The meeting was also attended by officers of LADCs and the Panel Lawyers of DLSA. The progress report of the Legal Aid Cases allotted to the Panel Lawyers was discussed in the meeting along with other issues connected thereto.

The presiding Officers of the meeting perused the Legal Aid Cases allotted to the Officers of LADCs Samba and the Legal Aid Lawyers of DLSA pending in the Courts of District Samba. He expressed satisfaction with respect to the seriousness of the officers of LADCs and Legal Aid Counsels in handling the Legal Aid Cases.

All the Panel Lawyers were also sensitized by the Committee to serve selflessly for the poor, needy and marginalized sections of the society; to ensure punctuality in attending the Legal Aid Cases pending in the Courts of District Samba; to report the proceedings of the Legal Aid Cases at the Front office and to seek necessary guidance, if required, from the Committee.
