JAMMU: In a profound display of dedication towards the preservation of India's rich heritage, the Central University of Jammu organized an illuminating event focused on the timeless teachings of Shri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Ji and their pivotal role in promoting the Unity, language, and culture of India.

In this event Spiritual leader, Atal Peethadhishwar Anant Vibhushit Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Rajguru Shri Swami Vishwatmananda Saraswatiji Maharaj, Shri Shamboo Panchayati Akhara, Shri Parshotam Dadhichi ji, President, Sanatan Dharma Sabha Jammu and Kashmir were present.

In addition to it,  the program saw an assembly of esteemed scholars, intellectuals and teachers who came together to delve into the vast ocean of Shri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Ji's philosophy. The program was inaugurated in the presence of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain. In his address, the Vice Chancellor emphasized on the meaningful application of Adi Shankaracharya's philosophy in the field of education and said that his philosophy and essence of life can guide us all.

Speaker “Mahamandaleshwar Rajguru shri Swami Vishwatamanand Saraswati” illuminated how Shankaracharya's teachings have significantly contributed to the cultural and spiritual unity of India. In his address, Mahamandaleshwar Rajguru Shri Vishwatmanand Saraswatiji Maharaj also remembered the contribution of Adishakaracharya in the geographical, cultural and spiritual unity of India and inspired the young generation to follow the path of contemplation and truth to take his efforts forward.

Swamiji also threw light on the fact that Adi Shankaracharya's teachings were full of philosophical ideas and reflected the universality, spiritual awareness, and intellectual rigor of Indian culture. Through his deep explorations into Advaita Vedanta, Adi Shankaracharya Ji’s deeply exploratory thoughts inspire scholars, proving the fundamental principles of unity in diversity that define Indian culture.

In his address, Swami Ji explained that through his extensive travels in the Indian subcontinent, Adi Shankaracharya rejuvenated the ancient tradition of Vedanta and revived the practice of Sanatana Dharma, synthesizing various philosophical schools and various cultural practices Adi Shankaracharya ji establishment four monasteries (ascetic institutions) in India –Shringeri, Dwarka, Puri, and Joshimath – which  served as centers of education, spiritual guidance, and cultural preservation, fostering a sense of unity amidst local diversity.

At the end, Swami ji motivated students by telling them that they, too, could preserve the integrity and unity of the country while also improving the language, culture, etc. in developed India. He bestowed blessings upon each and every one of the attendees, encouraging them to lead a life full of courage, genuineness and truth.

Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor CUJ, blessed the participants with his presence and addressed them with the teachings of Shri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Ji. He said that Adi Shankaryacharya Ji’s teachings serve as a beacon of light guiding us towards unity, peace, and understanding of Mind, soul and Body. This event was not just a celebration of his philosophy but a call to action for each one of us to embody these principles in our lives.

Prof. J.N. Baliya welcomed Rajguru shri Swami Vishwatamanand Saraswati in the beginning of the event and shared that Swami Ji has made three foot trips from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to spread the teachings of the Jagadguru Shri Shankara Charya ji. Finally Prof. Baliya ji expressed his gratitude and thanks to the Vice Chancellor of Central University of Jammu for guiding him in organizing such a program.

The event highlighted India's spiritual heritage and its manifestations in maintaining the diversity and unity of the country. In this endeavour, the Central University of Jammu commits to lead the way by promoting intellectual and spiritual inquiry.
